Fjola Maria Agustsdottir founded the company Fjola Maria Design in 2007, making luxury and high quality laptop cases, for independent, fashion-minded people all over the world.Fjola Maria has in a very short time received attention for her laptop cases, due to their uniqueness and for filling a gap in the market. Indeed, laptop cases have hitherto generally been produced to be practical, but not particularly stylish or beautiful. Fjola Maria is born and raised in a small village close to the natural wonder Lake Myvatn, situated in the north of Iceland. With volcanic eruptions, extraordinary landscape and birdlife all around her, she has been creative since she was a small girl. Graduating with a B.Sc. degree in Food Sciences, she was introduced to the beautiful varieties of different patterns of fish-leather as well as gaining some working experience in the fish industry. Creativity being in her blood, she started designing after her MBA degree in Business and Administration in 2003, using the fish-skin as a material for luxurious, stylish laptop cases.
